Internal comms, award entries, error messaging

I was brought onboard as comms support in early 2019 because of my reputation for translating technical jargon into plain English.

 

Across 2019, I remotely attended KFC Technology fortnightly sprint meetings and reworked the discussions and presentations into clear comms targeted at various internal stakeholders.

 

In 2020, I was asked to support the team with some UK app error messaging and award entries. They won two awards (yay and well deserved).

AWARD ENTRIES

KFC Digital Technology's Director wanted to shine a spotlight on her team's incredible achievements. I researched suitable awards, interviewed key team members and put together the entries.

In 2020, KFC Digital Technology won Computing's InHouse App award for their work taking the app from 0-60 across their first year, including successfully launching Drive Thru in one sprint during lockdown.

 

KFC also won Best Use of Microservices/Containers for the very technically brilliant work they did behind the scenes to create a truly agile QSR app architecture.

ERROR MESSAGING

I supported the KFC app team by taking technical error messages and rephrasing them in everyday plain English with a KFC zinger. I mean twist.
