Working with Emma on our new website was a great experience. She gave us feedback on our current website clearly and constructively, and has taught us so much about the dark art of website design and SEO!

Emma has great flair with copy, design and marketing. She is also warm, friendly and patient, and worked in real partnership with us during the project.

BRIEFING

We kicked off with a 60-minute review of the business, its ideal clients and its main competitors.

I analysed the existing Babel Projects site and three of its competitors. This stage uncovered areas for improvement such as search engine optimisation, site usability, branding and content.

RESEARCH

PLANNING

I presented the research findings to Ian and Jen. A project scope was agreed covering the pages, content, design and key SEO points.

I created a site map outlining the content per page. The content was then written to incorporate the key SEO terms uncovered at the research stage. Additional SEO elements were incorporated following best practice.

CONTENT

DESIGN

I used the logo to create a number of colour palettes. I presented variations of palette and typeface in a short video for Ian and Jen to reflect on.

After feedback and adjustment an outline design was agreed for the site and its sections.

I presented the first draft of the complete site in a Zoom call. Ian and Jen gave detailed feedback per page and section. This was incorporated into the final site design before it went live.
